Postdoctoral fellowship: 
Human-Computer Interaction and Visualization for Acoustic Imagery 

Applications are invited for a one-year postdoctoral position on interaction techniques and visualization applied to the domain of acoustic imagery.
What you need:
- PhD in scientific computing, scientific/data visualization or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) 
- A desire to work on a multidisciplinary research area (at the interface of scientific visualization and HCI)
- Excellent programming skills and good software development practices

Context and subject:
The fellow will work on [designing, developing and evaluating] interaction techniques for (1) visualizing in 2D and 3D (2) interactively manipulating real-world data collected from a new generation of acoustic antennas in order to study the sources of noise in a complex system. 
The activities will be part of an ongoing cooperation (FUI/LUG2 2016 project) among industrial partners and Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann on numerical solutions, inverse problems in acoustics and on high performance computing. 
In this context, the fellow will focus on interaction and visualization techniques. Several research directions are identified: 
1) Multiple views including focus+context, tight coupling between multiple 2D/3D views and multiple foci in 2D/3D visualization 
2) Interactive technique for temporal exploration of the evolution of sources of noise (2D and 3D)
3) Interactive techniques for 3D manipulation 
4) Uncertainty and/or progressive visualization in the context of multi-scale modeling of the sources of noise.

Salary and Benefits:
- Gross salary   ˜[2611,2657] euros per month
- Contract for 12 months
