[Ieee_vis_open_positions] Researcher position in visualisation for Cyber Defence at Fraunhofer FKIE (Germany, near Bonn)

Hi,

there is an open position at the department of Ergonomics and Human Systems Integration (EMS) at the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics (FKIE).

The approximately 350 staff members of FKIE are working on the development of innovative technologies targeted at analyzing intelligence data. The focus of our research is on real-world applications.

Therefore, research and methodologies developed in the institute are tested via proof of concept prototypes.



FKIE currently has an open position for a researcher in visualization for Cyber Defence.



Job description:

  - work on research projects in the field of graphical user interfaces  for cyber security/ cyber defence

  - analysis of work flows and operator tasks in network/security operation centers

  - development of visualization concepts for analyzing and displaying data relevant for cyber security

  - evaluation of visualization concepts with respect to Human Factors

  - scientific publication of the results obtained



We require:

You will have completed a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Particular emphasis is placed on:

  -data- & information visualization

  -data analysis & data mining

  -network security

  -web technologies to implement the developed visualization concepts (d3js, webGL)



We afford:

  - possibility to pursuit a PhD

  - work in a receptive, interdisciplinary team



Vacancy details:

  - the candidate gets a full-time position (payment according to TvÖD)

  - the position is limited to 2 years. A subsequent employment is possible.
