TEASYS – NEWS
On May 27, Angelika Zirker will give a talk on “Explanatory
Annotation, Hermeneutics, and Digitality: TEASys – a Brief
Introduction[1]” (“Erklärende Annotation, Hermeneutik und Digitalität:
TEASys - eine Kurzvorstellung) at the /Tagung der Deutschen
Gesellschaft für Allgemeine und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft/
(Innsbruck, Austria).
The Annotating Literature student groups will continue to meet online
during the summer term. We're always looking for new participants and
if you are interested or would like to come to one of the introductory
meetings, feel free to contact our mentors via email[2] or check out
our website[3].

AND DID YOU KNOW THAT …
… we are currently working on a whole set of new annotations for “To a
Mouse” by Robert Burns? The annotations will be published shortly
online. To explore other annotations written in the context of the

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[5] is looking forward to your
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

CALLS FOR PAPERS/UPCOMING EVENTS

The conference Data for History 2021: Modelling Time, Places,
Agents[6] will take place every Wednesday afternoon between May 19 and
June 30. Registration[7] is NOW OPEN.
Submissions for the 1st Workshop on Computational Linguistics for
Political Text Analysis[8] (September 2021) are due by JUNE 30, 2021.
Hybrid Pedagogy Books[9] is pleased to announce a call for
contributors for a new reader which will explore critical
instructional design, a humanizing and problem-posing digital design
approach grounded in the critical pedagogy of Paulo Freire. Draft
submissions are DUE no later than JULY 15, 2021. Drafts should be
submitted as Google Docs to Sean Michael Morris at
sean.m.morris at ucdenver.edu. For the full CFP, please visit the

M.A. and PhD candidates are invited to submit proposals for an
interdisciplinary corpus contest[11] with a focus on interdisciplinary
cooperation. Accepted projects will be presented during the vDHd[12]
(September 14, 2021). The deadline is JULY 15, 2021.
ride: A Review Journal for Digital Editions and Resources[13] is
requesting reviews for its next issue. The deadline is SEPTEMBER 30,
2021.
The Future Text Publishing[14] is working on a second volume
publication of /The Future of Text/. If you would like to contribute,
please visit the website[15] for more information as well as the
submission guidelines.

The DH at Guelph Summer Workshops 2021 will take place online from JUNE
14 – 17, 2021, via Zoom. You can find the full workshop schedule

JOBS AND GRANTS
The Leibniz-Institut für Europäische Geschichte (Mainz, Germany) is
hiring a research fellow[21] for digital historical research. The
deadline is MAY 24, 2021.
The University of Graz has three open positions: (1) lecturer (with
PhD)[22] in the field of DH, (2) lecturer (with M.A.)[23] in the field
of DH, and (3) lecturer (with M.A.)[24] in the field of DH. The
deadline for all three is MAY 26, 2021.
The Department of Greek and Latin Philology (Freiburg University,
Germany) is hiring a postdoc or a PhD candidate[25]. The deadline is
MAY 31, 2021.
The University of Bayreuth (Germany) is hiring a data curator[26] for
its project "Africa Multiple: Reconfiguring African Studies". The
deadline is MAY 31, 2021.
The University of Göttingen is looking for an IT administrator[27].
The deadline is JUNE 2, 2021.
The Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften is hiring a
research software developer[28] specialising in art history and DH.
The deadline is JUNE 2, 2021.
The Institut für pfälzische Geschichte und Volkskunde (Kaiserslautern,
Germany) is looking for a research fellow[29] specialising in DH. The
deadline is JUNE 6, 2021.
Researchers interested in cooperating with the Digital Humanities
Centre at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of
Sciences (IBL PAN[30]) are encouraged to apply for a PASIFIC
Fellowship[31]. Fellows will be able to spend two years in Poland and
work on a project of their own choosing. The deadline is JUNE 30, 2021.
The Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) is looking
to hire a postdoctoral fellow to work on The First Three Years, a
longitudinal research project. The project examines the experiences of
new graduates of postsecondary video game programs as they transition
