The topic of the 15th International /Connotations/ Symposium  
(Tübingen, July 28 – August 1, 2019) is “Understanding (Through)  
Annotations”. Proposals (300 words max.) can be sent to to the editors  
of Connotations until OCTOBER 15, 2018: symposium2019 at connotations.de.

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[1] is looking forward to your  
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to  
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that  
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),  
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to  
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on  
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

CALLS FOR PAPERS/ UPCOMING EVENTS

Papers are due SEPTEMBER 30 for the 6th DHd conference[2] (25-29 March  
2019, Mainz, Germany) on „Digital Humanities: multimedial und  
multimodal“.

The IDE Autumn School „Digitale Edition – Vertiefung und Nutzung“[3]  
will take place from OCTOBER 1-5, 2018 in Vienna.

Call for papers for the Linked Pasts IV: Views From Inside The  
LOD-cloud[4] (11-13 December, Mainz, Germany). The deadline is 14  
OCTOBER.

Call for Papers for the 15th International /Connotations/ Symposium[5]

New DHQ SUBMISSION deadline is OCTOBER 15, 2018.

Call for Proposals for the Understanding and Enacting Open  
Scholarship[6] INKE-hosted gathering January 16, 2019 at the Hotel  
Grand Pacific, Victoria, Canada. Proposals are due OCTOBER 1, 2018.

Papers for the Workshop on eLexicography: Between Digital Humanities  
and Artificial Intelligence[7] (6 December 2018, Galway, Ireland) are  
due 19 OCTOBER 2018.

Call for Papers: AIUCD 2019 Conference[8] about ‘Pedagogy, Teaching,  
and  Research in the Age of Digital Humanities’.

The deadline for submitting proposals is the OCTOBER 25, 2018.  
Abstracts can be uploaded via conftool[9].

The workshop on "Intellectual property rights, data privacy and  
licensing tools: Theory and practice[10]" will take place on 25  
October 2018 in Vienna. Registration is now open.

Call for Papers: Digital Stylistics in Romance Studies and Beyond  
[11] from February 27 – March 2, 2019  at Würzburg University,  
Germany. Deadline for abstracts is OCTOBER 31, 2018.

Submissions are due OCTOBER 31 for a special issue of Social  
Sciences [12]on the theme of "Big Data and the Human and Social  
Sciences."

Call for Papers for the 25th Annual ACMRS Conference[13]: Digital  
Humanities in Medieval and Renaissance Studies “Magic, Religion, and  
Science in the Global Middle Ages and Renaissance”, which will take  
place February 7-9, 2019 at the Embassy Suites Phoenix-Scottsdale  
Hotel. Deadline is NOVEMBER 1, 2018.

International Conference: Digital Humanities. The Culture of Data[14]  
will be held at the Espacio Cultural Universitario (ECU) as well as  
the School of Humanities / Facultad de Humanidades (UNR) in Rosario,  
Province of Santa Fe, NOVEMBER 7-9, 2018.

The Association for Computers and the Humanities (ACH) is pleased to  
announce this Call for Proposals for ACH 2019, July 23-26 in  
Pittsburgh, PA. For CfP details please see website[15]. Deadline for  
the submissions is NOVEMBER 10, 2018.

Call for Contributions for the /Journal of Interactive Technology and  
Pedagogy/. Submission deadline for full manuscripts is NOVEMBER 15,  
2018. Please view submission guidelines[16] on the journal website.

Call for Papers for Digital Diasporas: Interdisciplinary  
Perspectives[17] on June 6-7, 2019  at the School of Advanced Study,  
Senate House (University of London).The deadline for submissions is  
DECEMBER 1, 2018.

Call for Papers for the “Workshop on Scholarly Digital Editions, Graph  
Data-Models and Semantic Web Technologies[18]” at the Université de  
Lausanne (June 3-4, 2019) is now open. Deadline is DECEMBER 9, 2018.

Call for Papers: LIINC Journal invites scholars to submit articles for  
their dossier "Digital Humanities: views from the South." For more  
information on the rules of article submission see website[19].  
Deadline for submissions is JANUARY 31, 2019.

The 2019 conference of the association Digital Humanities in Nordic  
Countries[20] will be held in COPENHAGEN MARCH 6–8, 2019.

Registration for DHCS 2018[21] at Loyola University Chicago's downtown  
Water Tower Campus on NOVEMBER 9-11, 2018 will open soon.

Reminder: Proposals for the 6th DHd[22] (25-29. March 2019, Frankfurt  
& Mainz) are due on 30 SEPTEMBER 2018.

The Chair of Digital Humanities (Professor Malte Rehbein) invites  
applications for the position of Graduate Research and Teaching  
Assistant[23] in Digital History or Historical Information Science at  
the University of Passau. To apply, please send your full application  
(including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, relevant certificates and  
letters of recommendation as well as a list of publications) as a  
single pdf file to sekretariat.rehbein at uni-passau.de no later than 1  
OCTOBER 2018. 

The university of Graz is hiring a new system administrator[24]. The  
deadline is 3 OCTOBER 2018.

The Leibniz-Institut für Ost‐ und Südosteuropaforschung (Regensburg,  
Germany) is looking for a computer scientist[25]. The deadline is 10  
OCTOBER 2018.

The Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel is looking for a research  
fellow[26] specialising in Digital Humanities. The deadline is 12  
OCTOBER 2018.

Applications for GESIS grants[27] are due 14 OCTOBER 2018.

The Schweizerische Institut für Kunstwissenschaft (Zürich) is looking
