TEASYS – NEWS
 
At this year’s Dickens Conference[1] (Tübingen, Germany, July 30 –  
August 1) there will be two panels concerned with “Digital Dickens”.  
Angelika Zirker (Berlin/Tübingen) and Miriam Lahrsow (Tübingen) will  
present TEASys in a talk titled “Nor’westers, Fighting Cocks, and  
Obserwations: A Digital Annotated Edition of /The Chimes/”.
 
Sabine Bartsch (Darmstadt) and Angelika Zirker (Berlin/Tübingen)  
organise a DH workshop at the Anglistentag 2018[2] (Bonn, 23-26  
September). For the CfP see here[3]. Papers are due JULY 29.

The topic of the 15th International Connotations Symposium (Tübingen,  
Summer 2019) is “Understanding (Through) Annotations”. Proposals (300  
words max.) can be sent to to the editors of Connotations until  
OCTOBER 15, 2018: symposium2019 at connotations.de.

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[4] is looking forward to your  
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to  
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that  
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),  
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to  
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on  
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

CALLS FOR PAPERS/ UPCOMING EVENTS

The Shared Task on the Analysis of Narrative Levels Through  
Annotation[5] (SANTA) is open to everyone interested in the  
collaborative creation of annotation guidelines.

GNDCon[6]/, /the first convention concerned with the/ /Gemeinsamen  
Normdatei, will take place December 3-4, 2018 at the German National  
Library in Frankfurt am Main. Papers are due JULY 27; registration is  
possible from AUGUST 6 onwards.

Abstracts for the Book History Research Network's upcoming 'Book in  
the Digital Age'[7] Study Day at Loughborough University (UK) on  
October 24, 2018. Deadline is AUGUST 22.

Textual Heritage and Information Technologies[8] will take place in  
Vienna and Krems, Austria from SEPTEMBER 14-18, 2018.

Register by SEPTEMBER 15 for iPres 2018[9], the 15th International  
Conference on Digital Preservation (Boston and Cambridge, MA,   
September 24 - 27).

Papers are due SEPTEMBER 30 for the 6th DHd conference[10] (25-29  
March 2019, Mainz, Germany) on „Digital Humanities: multimedial und  
multimodal“ stehen.

The IDE Autumn School „Digitale Edition – Vertiefung und Nutzung“[11]  
will take place from OCTOBER 1-5, 2018 in Vienna.

Call for Papers for the 15th International Connotations Symposium[12]

New DHQ SUBMISSION deadline is OCTOBER 15, 2018.

Submissions are due OCTOBER 31 for a special issue of Social  
Sciences [13]on the theme of "Big Data and the Human and Social  
Sciences."

International Conference: Digital Humanities. The Culture of Data[14]  
will be held at the Espacio Cultural Universitario (ECU) as well as  
the School of Humanities / Facultad de Humanidades (UNR) in Rosario,  
Province of Santa Fe, NOVEMBER 7-9, 2018. The Call for Paper is open  
now.

DHCS 2018[15] will be taking place at Loyola University Chicago's  
downtown Water Tower Campus on NOVEMBER 9-11, 2018! The CFP[16] is  
open now!

Call for Papers for the 25th Annual ACMRS Conference[17]: Digital  
Humanities in Medieval and Renaissance Studies “Magic, Religion, and  
Science in the Global Middle Ages and Renaissance”, which will take  
place from February 7-9, 2019 at the Embassy Suites Phoenix-Scottsdale  
Hotel.

CONFERENCE UPDATES

The Digital Pedagogy Lab 2018[18], will take place in Fredericksburg,  
VA from JULY 30 – AUGUST 3. Registration[19] is now open! Here is the  
full conference programme[20].

Registration[21] is now open for TEI2018! Please note that the early  
bird rate ends on AUGUST 9.

Full conference program for the 5th Annual Digital Pedagogy Institute  
(DPI2018) this August 9th and 10th at Brock University is available  
online[22]!

The university library at Goethe University (Frankfurt am Main,  
Germany) is looking for a software developer. The deadline is JULY 17,  
2018.

California State University, Fresno, is looking for a Director of

Job opportunity as POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER with nineteenth-century and  
digital expertise to work with the Centre for Digital Scholarship at  
the Bodleian, and the Royal Archives, Royal Commission for the  
Exhibition of 1851, and Royal Collection Trust's Prince Albert  
Digitisation Project. CLOSING date is JULY 25, 2018. For more

The Rat für Informationsinfrastrukturen (Göttingen, Germany) is

The „Handschriftenportal“ project at the Herzog August Library
