The topic of the 15th International /Connotations/ Symposium[1]
(Tübingen, Summer 2019) is “Understanding (Through) Annotations”.
Proposals (300 words max.) can be sent to to the editors of
Connotations until OCTOBER 15, 2018: symposium2019 at connotations.de.

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[2] is looking forward to your
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

Digital Archives and Digital Humanities[8] on the theme of "Facing the
Era of AI+DH" (Dharma Drum Institute of Liberal Arts, Taiwan, 18 - 21

SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE JULY 23 for the 19th Workshop of the Netzwerk
Terrorismusforschung titled “Medien-Sicherheit – Medien-Erkenntnis:
Ansätze, Methoden und Spannungsverhältnisse zwischen ziviler
Sicherheitsforschung und Digital Humanities[9]“ (11-12 October, Mainz,
Germany).
The Perseus Digital Library at Tufts University invites
applications[10] to “Digital Editions, Digital Corpora, and new
Possibilities for the Humanities in the Academy and Beyond[11]” a
two-week NEH Institute for Advanced Technology in the Digital
Humanities (JULY 16-27, 2018).
Textual Heritage and Information Technologies[12] will take place in
Vienna and Krems, Austria from SEPTEMBER 14-18, 2018.
CFP[13] for the CRIHN Colloque 2018 Thinking the Digital Humanities
Anew[14] FROM OCTOBER 25 TO OCTOBER 27, 2018 at the University of
Montreal. DEADLINE is JULY 13, 2018.

Submissions are due OCTOBER 31 for a special issue of Social
Sciences [15]on the theme of "Big Data and the Human and Social
Sciences."
International Conference: Digital Humanities. The Culture of Data[16]
will be held at the Espacio Cultural Universitario (ECU) as well as
the School of Humanities / Facultad de Humanidades (UNR) in Rosario,
Province of Santa Fe, November 7-9, 2018. The Call for Paper is open
now.
Call for Papers for the 25th Annual ACMRS Conference[17]: Digital
Humanities in Medieval and Renaissance Studies “Magic, Religion, and
Science in the Global Middle Ages and Renaissance”, which will take
place from February 7-9, 2019 at the Embassy Suites Phoenix-Scottsdale
Hotel.

CONFERENCE UPDATES
Registration[18] is now open for the Privacy, Open Data and the
Humanities workshop at the School of Advanced Study, London, on JUNE
21, 2018.
The program[19] for “Balisage: The Markup Conference 2018” is now
available online.
At the DHSI 2018 Conference and Colloquium, there will also be the
annual Unconference. All events will occur during lunchtime sessions,
running from 12:25 - 1:15 pm, for both weeks of DHSI.
The Digital Pedagogy Lab 2018[20], will take place in Fredericksburg,
VA from JULY 30 – AUGUST 3. Registration[21] is now open! Here is the
full conference programme[22].

SUMMER SCHOOLS
The Digital Humanities at Oxford Summer School (DHOxSS) 2018 is now
open for registration[23]. For more information on the Summer School
visit the website[24]. The Summer School runs this year FROM 2–6
JULY at Keble College, Oxford.
The 9th European Summer University in Digital Humanities "Culture &
Technology[25]" will take place in Leipzig from JULY 17 – 27, 2018.
The website will continually be updated.
The Autumn School for Information Retrieval and Information
Foraging[26] will take place from SEPTEMBER 16-21 in Schloss Dagstuhl
– Leibniz Center for Informatics, Germany.

The Bavarian Ministry for Science and Arts (in collaboration with the
