Faculty Position in Business Analytics
The Position
The Department of Business Analytics in the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with a fall 2020 starting date. We are particularly interested in innovative scholars at the entering or advanced Assistant or beginning Associate level. The successful candidate will contribute to vibrant and expanding programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. We are excited to consider a broad range of fields within analytics. We welcome applicants with a PhD degree in Applied Math, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Informatics /Information Sciences, Logistics, Management Science, Operations Management/Supply Chain, Statistics or a related field.

The Department
Analytics is the transformation of data into insight for better decision making. Business Analytics is the application of analytics to business. The process required for the transformation of data into insight is multi-disciplinary. As such, business analytics falls at the intersection of computer science, statistics, mathematics (particularly optimization), and business. The Department of Business Analytics in the Tippie College of Business has been at the forefront of research in analytics since the beginning. We have particular strengths in predictive analytics in the areas of health care, social issue, text, and social media. Faculty members have developed key methodologies in social network analysis and continuous optimization. Our department is also internationally known for work in supply chain design and transportation, including humanitarian logistics. The Department of Business Analytics offers a BBA in Business Analytics and Information Systems, a part-time and full-time MS in Business Analytics, and a PhD program. The Department of Business Analytics is actively engaged with companies and continuing to improve the learning experience for our students. Our work with national and international companies is coordinated through the Tippie Analytics Cooperative. Our department hosts an annual Analytics Case Competition and Women in Analytics and Leadership Conference (WALC).

Requirements
An earned doctorate or strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed before August 19, 2020 in Applied Math, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Informatics /Information Sciences, Logistics, Management Science, Operations Management/Supply Chain, Statistics or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to do high quality research.
Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated success working with diverse groups of students is highly desirable.
Demonstrated success in teaching is desirable.

Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Position is 100% time with benefits.
