<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Analytics is the transformation of data into insight for better decision making. Business Analytics is the application of analytics to business. The process required for the transformation
of data into insight is multi-disciplinary. As such, business analytics falls at the intersection of computer science, statistics, mathematics (particularly optimization), and business. The Department of Business Analytics in the Tippie College of Business
has been at the forefront of research in analytics since the beginning. We have particular strengths in predictive analytics in the areas of health care, social issue, text, and social media. Faculty members have developed key methodologies in social network
