Open University Assistant / PhD Position in Visualization and

The Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms at TU Wien (Vienna, 
Austria) has an open research assistant / PhD position in the field of 
visualization and human-computer interaction. Additional duties include 
undergraduate teaching in the field of visual computing.

Candidates must have a Master’s degree or an equivalent degree in 
computer science or related fields, with very good knowledge in the 
fields of visualization, human-computer interaction, and computer 
graphics. Solid programming skills and fluency in spoken and written 
English are required. Prior involvement in research projects is a plus.

The successful candidate will become an employee of the Institute of 
Computer Graphics and Algorithms, TU Wien. Currently, there are about 
thirty people including professors, PhDs, and graduate students working 
at our Institute. We provide a very stimulating and highly enjoyable 
working environment in a competitive, internationally oriented research 
group. TU Wien is located in the heart of Europe, in a cosmopolitan city 
of great cultural diversity. TU Wien is among the most successful 
technical universities in Europe and is Austria’s largest 
scientific-technical research and educational institution.

The monthly gross salary is currently at least 1706 EUR for 25h per 
week, 14 times a year including all social benefits. There is a 
possibility to extend the employment to 30h per week and 2071 EUR 
monthly gross salary (following the guidelines of the Austrian Science 
Fund FWF for doctoral candidates) through project activities.
