Dr. Timbwaoga A. J. Ouermi (SCI Institute, University of Utah) and Dr. Tushar M. Athawale (Oak Ridge National Laboratory), along with Dr. Chris R. Johnson (SCI Institute, University of Utah), Dr. Paul Rosen (SCI Institute, University of Utah), Dr. Kristi Potter (National Lab of the Rockies), Dr. Dave Pugmire (Oak Ridge National Laboratory), Dr. Antigoni Georgiadou (Oak Ridge National Laboratory), Dr. Tim Gerrits (RWTH Aachen University), and Dr. Nadia Boukhelifa (French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment) are excited to announce the 2026 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) workshop on, “Uncertainty Visualization: How to Make it Interpretable, Integrable, and Accessible?” to be held in conjunction with the 2026 IEEE VIS Conference<https://ieeevis.org/year/2026/welcome/> in Boston, USA, November 9-13, 2026.
Despite multiple advances in uncertainty visualization methods for trustworthy data analysis, their adoption in real-world workflows remains limited due to three key challenges: 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦, 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑐𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦. This workshop seeks to deepen community understanding and define research priorities across these three areas.
The CFP invites (short/regular) paper and demo submissions that advance interpretable representations, integrable computational methods, and accessible tools and frameworks in the context of uncertainty. Accepted papers will appear in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. (more information can be found in the link below).
The deadline for submission is July 10, 2026.
