[Umweltnaturwissenschaften-infoliste] New MSc project on Fe atom exchange in the Geomicrobiology group

Dear all,

 

I would like to announce a new MSc project in the Geomicrobiology group in
the Geosciences department. The project looks at the atom exchange processes
between aqueous Fe(II) and Fe-sulfides (pyrite/greigite). It will combine
geochemical and microbiological work to determine whether the Fe isotopic
composition of pyrite - a key mineral in the biogeochemical cycling of Fe,
S, oxygen and trace metals throughout Earth's history - can be modified
after initial formation.   

 

Attached is the pdf of the project announcement with details. Start date is
flexible and the project can count towards Scientific Practice or MSc
