The project looks at the atom exchange processes between aqueous Fe(II) and Fe-sulfides (pyrite/greigite). It will combine geochemical and microbiological work to determine whether the Fe isotopic composition of pyrite – a key mineral in the biogeochemical cycling of Fe, S, oxygen and trace metals throughout Earth’s history – can be modified after initial formation. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Attached is the pdf of the project announcement with details.
