TEASYS – NEWS

The Tübingen Annotating Literature student groups will begin meeting  
from next week on! Due to the ongoing pandemic, all groups will  
continue to meet online during the winter term. If you would like to  
participate, feel free to send us an email[1], check out our  
website[2] or simply come to one of the introductory meetings:

Annotating “THE CHIMES” Meetings: The introductory session for those  
new to the group will be held on Tuesday, 5-6 p.m., November 17.

Annotating POETRY Meetings: The introductory session for those new to  
the group will be held on Thursday, 6-8 p.m., November 19.

Annotating /THE KNIGHT OF THE BURNING PESTLE/ Meetings: The  
introductory session for those new to the group will be held on  
Friday, 2-4 p.m., November 20.

If you cannot wait to learn more, you can also follow the link here[3]  
for a short introductory presentation that will provide you with some  
basic information on how to participate in our project.

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[4] is looking forward to your  
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to  
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that  
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),  
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to  
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on  
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

CALLS FOR PAPERS/UPCOMING EVENTS

PLEASE NOTE THAT, DUE TO THE CURRENT CORONA CRISIS, IT IS POSSIBLE  
THAT SOME OF THESE EVENTS WILL BE POSTPONED OR CANCELLED. WE WILL KEEP  
YOU UPDATED ON ANY CHANGES.

REGISTRATION for the online conference “Briefeditionen – wie  
digital?[5]” (November 19-20, 2020) is now open.

You can now REGISTER for the virtual forum Jews, Christians, and  
Muslims as Colleagues and Collaborators in the Abbasid Near East[6] (9  
sessions between October 20 and December 11, 2020).

The online conference “Digital Practices. Reading, Writing and  
Evaluation on the Web[7]” will take place on NOVEMBER 23-25, 2020.  
Registration is free.

The editor of the “Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy”  
invite submission[8] of manuscripts for consideration in their  
upcoming issue. The DEADLINE for the full manuscripts is DECEMBER 2,  
2020.

The HELDIG Digital Humanities Summit 2020 “Results of Today – Visions  
for Tomorrow[9]” will take place on DECEMBER 11, 2020 via Zoom.

Jan Horstmann and Frank Fischer are requesting submissions for the  
special volume “Digitale Verfahren in der Literaturwissenschaft“ in  
the open access journal /Textpraxis. Digitales Journal für  
Philologie/[10]. The deadline is DECEMBER 31, 2020.

The interdisciplinary workshop “New Tools for Old Problems[11]” will  
take place online on January 9, 2021. Registration is open until  
DECEMBER 31, 2020.

The conference “Virtual Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen  
Raum[12]“ will take place during three different time slots. (1) 1st  
conference: March 22-26, 2020 (2) various project presentations  
between calendar weeks 12 and 37 (3) 2nd conference: September 13-17,  
2020. The deadline for submissions is JANUARY 7, 2021.

The European Association for Digital Humanities (EADH) invites  
submission of PROPOSALS for its 2nd International Conference EADH 2021  
(from September 21-25, 2021, in Siberian Federal University in  
Krasnoyarsk, Russia). Should circumstances make it necessary, the  
conference might go entirely virtual. For updates, you can access the  
conference website here[13] (later https://eadh2020-2021.org/). You  
can also submit your proposal via ConfTool[14]. DEADLINE for  
submissions is on JANUARY 10, 2021.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS for the 25th conference on Theory and Practice  
of Digital Libraries. It takes place under the theme “Linking Theory  
and Practice” (from September 13-17, 2021). Submission deadline for  
workshops and tutorials is JANUARY 13, 2021. Submission deadline for  
papers, demos and posters is APRIL 14, 2021. For a full call for  
contributions please see here[15].

Proposals for the online workshop “Die mittelalterlichen  
Buchhandschriften der Klosterbibliothek Corvey digital[16]” (May  
27-29, 2020) are due on JANUARY 15, 2021.

Call for Papers for “Historical Networks – Réseaux Historiques –  
Historische Netzwerke 2021[17]” (University of Luxembourg, June 30 –  
July 2, 2021). The deadline is JANUARY 15, 2020.

Submissions for the Third Biennial Conference on Language, Data and  
Knowledge[18] (JUNE 14-16, 2021, Zaragoza, Spain) are due by JANUARY  
29, 2021.

The open access journal /KULA/[19] invites proposals for its special  
issue on “Metadata, Knowledge, and Open Knowledge Projects”. Please  
submit your abstracts (300-500 words) through the journal's website by  
JANUARY 31, 2021.

Chapter submissions for an edited volume on „Chancen und Risiken der  
digitalen Lehre in der
Philosophie[20]“ are due MARCH 15, 2021.

UPDATES

The Helsinki Digital Humanities Hackathon[21] is postponed till autumn  
2021, register your interest to keep informed. It will be organized  
under the name #DHH21.

Registration is now open for the online workshop  
“Forschungsdatenmanagement in der Romanistik[22]“ (NOVEMBER 26-27,  
2020). The deadline for registration is NOVEMBER 20, 2020.

You can still REGISTER for the online workshop “Transcribing −  
Encoding − Annotating: New Approaches of Technology and Methodology  
for Historical Sources in Crowd Sourcing and Citizen Science[23]”  
(NOVEMBER 26-27, 2020).

Editors of the newly re-constituted journal “Scholarly Editing” have  
decided to EXTEND the contribution DEADLINE for Issue 39 TO APRIL 30,  
2021. For more information see the see the “Contributing” page on  
their website[24].

JOBS

The University of Hamburg offers one Postdoc[25] and one PhD[26]  
position in its project “Digitale Wissenssoziologische Diskursanalyse:  
Multimodale Bedeutungsanalysen in Grounded Theory geleiteten  
Forschungsprozessen (D-WISE)”. The deadline for both is NOVEMBER 30,  
2020.

The University of Lausanne is hiring an assistant professor in video  
game studies[27]. The deadline is DECEMBER 1, 2020.

The University of Vienna is looking for a senior scientist at the  
Department of European and Comparative Literature and Language Studies  
with a special focus on DH[28].

The Brown University Library and the Library’s Center for Digital  
Scholarship opened a position for a one-year Diversity in Digital  
Publishing post-doctoral fellowship. More information follow this
