TEASYS – NEWS

The latest of our STUDENT ANNOTATING GROUPS,  “Annotating Dickens’s  
/The Chimes/”, has successfully started at the beginning of the new  
year! If you are interested in joining last minute, you can contact us  
directly: annotating-literature[at]es.uni-tuebingen.de. To see what we  
have achieved so far, please, follow this link[1] to our TEASys

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[2] is looking forward to your  
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to  
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that  
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),  
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to  
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on  
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

Our most recent addition to the directory is The Digital Temple - A  
Documentary Edition of George Herbert’s English Verse[3].

CALLS FOR PAPERS/UPCOMING EVENTS

The conference Neo-Paleography: Analysing Ancient Handwritings in the  
Digital Age[4] will take place January 27-29, 2020 in Basel,  
Switzerland. Please NOTIFY YOUR INTEREST TO ATTEND via email

PROPOSALS are now being accepted for presentations at the DHSI  
Conference & Colloquium, to be held in June 2020 alongside classes at  
the Digital Humanities Summer Institute, University of Victoria.  
Please submit proposals using

submissions is JANUARY 20, 2020.

CALL FOR PAPERS for the Digital Humanities Pedagogy and Training  
Conference 2020 (June 5-6 2020; Victoria, British Columbia, Canada).  
PROPOSALS are DUE FEBRUARY 14, 2020. Please submit via

CALL FOR PAPERS for CARMA 2020 – the Internet and Big Data in  
Economics and Social Sciences 3rd International Conference on Advanced  
Research Methods and Analytics from July 8 - 9, 2020 in Valencia,  
Spain. Submission DEADLINE is FEBRUARY 14, 2020. Please follow the  
instructions in the template file, available at:  
http://www.carmaconf.org/template.docx. Submissions can be uploaded  
following the link to the submissions website[5].

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for "Advanced digital editing: modeling the text  
and making the edition", a summer NEH Institute for Advanced Topics in  
the Digital Humanities (July 6 - July 17, 2020). Application DEADLINE:  
Friday, February 28, 2020.

Umanistica Digitale, the journal of AIUCD (Italian DH Association), is  
now accepting proposals for the number 9 (scheduled for publishing  
Autumn 2020). The journal publishes original scientific articles  
(5-10.000 words), reviews and event reports (1-3.500 words) in Italian  
and English on any subject and sub-field of Digital Humanities. The  
proposals[6] must be SUBMITTED to the journal OJS website BY FEBRUARY  
29, 2020.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS: The /Journal of Open Archaeology Data  
(JOAD)/[7] is accepting submissions for publication for 2019. JOAD  
publishes data papers, which do not contain research results but  
rather a concise description of a dataset, and where to find it. Any  
kind of archaeological data is acceptable, including for example:  
geophysical data; quantitative or qualitative data; images; notebooks;  
excavation data, software, etc. Submissions can be sent throughout the  
year.

CALL FOR ESSAYS for /Impressions, Vol. 2: Essays on the Art of  
Printing/[8], published by The Legacy Press. For more information

Applications are invited for participation in a series of advanced  
institutes on text analysis, sponsored by the Northeastern University  
Women Writers Project. The programme includes can be found under the

  UPDATES

The programme[10] for the DHd2020 "Spielräume. Digital Humanities  
zwischen Modellierung und
Interpretation" (March 2-6, 2020, Paderborn, Germany) is now online.  
Registration[11] for the conference is now possible.

The European Association for Digital Humanities is very pleased to  
announce that its second INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE EADH 2020 will be  
held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The conference will be hosted by the  
Siberian Federal University and will take place in September 2020.  
More updates will follow.

The deadline for “Debates in the Digital Humanities: Computational  
Humanities” was extended to January 17, 2020. To see the full CfP  
follow the link to the website[12].

SUMMER SCHOOLS

You can now register[13] for the DHSI 2020[14], taking place between  
June 1-5 and June 8-12, 2020, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. A  
list of course offerings can be found at

DHSI Atlantic will be hosted at University College Cork, Ireland, from  
June 15-19, 2020. For more information and to see the programme follow

JOBS/SCHOLARSHIPS/GRANTS

The French Studies Seminar at the University of Basel is looking for  
an IT technician[16] (50%) to join the group „Le Rire des vers –  
Mining the Comic Verse.“

A digital musicologist[17] is required to join the research team  
working on the AHRC-funded ‘Interpreting the Mensural Notation of  
Music: An Expert System Based on the Theory of Johannes Tinctoris’  
project at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The deadline is JANUARY  
17, 2020.

The University of Oldenburg is offering up to eight PhD positions[18]  
in its project “Gestalten der Zukunft – Transformation der Gegenwart  
durch Szenarien der Digitalisierung”. The deadline is JANUARY 20, 2020.

RDA Europe is offering up to seven grants[19] of maximum €2400 to  
Early Career European Researchers & Scientists working with data to  
attend the 15th RDA Plenary meeting, to be held in Melbourne,  
Australia, 18 - 20 March 2020. The deadline is FEBRUARY 3, 2020.

The Swiss RISM Office, an academic research infrastructure dealing  
with historical music documents is looking for a senior software  
developer[20]. The deadline is FEBRUARY 6, 2020.
