TEASYS – NEWS
The “Annotating Literature Peer Learning Project” is currently looking
for new members for the Annotating Literature Peer Learning Groups
that meet once a week to discuss literary texts, such as Dickens’ “The
Chimes,” Beaumont and Fletcher’s /The Knight of the Burning Pestle/ or
a selection of all kinds of poems from Chaucer to Rupi Kaur. If you
are interested in joining, please contact:

The Annotated Web Edition Directory[1] is looking forward to your
suggestions. We are always on the look-out for new entries to add to
the list. Feel free to recommend literary digital editions that
include explanatory annotation (of the social or the editorial kind),
web platforms, tools and applications that enable the user to
(collaboratively) annotate texts. Please use the corresponding form on
our webpage. We thank you for your help.

CALLS FOR PAPERS/ UPCOMING EVENTS
The DHSI[2] has released their programme for 2019! The summer school
will be from 3-7 and 10-14 June 2019 in Victoria, British Columbia,
Canada. You can register via http://dhsi.org/courses.php and you can
apply for a scholarship here[3].
The Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations[4] (ADHO) INVITES
SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS for its annual conference with the theme
“Complexities” (9-12 July 2019, Utrecht, Netherlands). Deadline for
proposals is NOVEMBER 27, 2018. Proposal must be submitted
via conftool[5].
The /Journal of the Japanese Association for Digital Humanities[6]/ is
inviting submissions for Volume 4 of their Journal. DEADLINE for
proposals is NOVEMBER 30, 2018. To submit your paper, please follow
the link[7].
CALL FOR PAPERS for Digital Diasporas: Interdisciplinary
Perspectives[8] on June 6-7, 2019 at the School of Advanced Study,
Senate House (University of London). The deadline for submissions is
DECEMBER 1, 2018. Accepted papers will be confirmed by 1 February 2019.
CALL FOR PAPERS for a special issue of /Internet Histories: Digital
Technology, Culture and Society/. DEADLINE is DECEMBER 7, 2018. For
more information on the journal see website[9].
CALL FOR PAPERS for the “Workshop on Scholarly Digital Editions, Graph
Data-Models and Semantic Web Technologies[10]” at the Université de
Lausanne (June 3-4, 2019) is now open. DEADLINE is DECEMBER 9, 2018.
CALL FOR PAPERS for the Symposium on “Wovon sprechen wir, wenn wir von
Digitalisierung sprechen? Gehalte und Revisionen zentraler Begriffe
des Digitalen[11]” (Bayreuth, Germany, 13-15 February 2019). The
DEADLINE is 10 DECEMBER 2018.
CALL FOR PAPERS for next summer's Electronic Literature Organization
Conference & Media Arts Festival[12], to be hosted at University
College Cork, Ireland, from July 15-17, 2019. DEADLINE for
submissions[13] is DECEMBER 21, 2018.
CALL FOR PAPERS: LIINC Journal invites scholars to submit articles for
their dossier "Digital Humanities: views from the South." For more
information on the rules of article submission see website[14].
DEADLINE for submissions is JANUARY 31, 2019.
The 2019 conference of the association Digital Humanities in Nordic
Countries[15] will be held in COPENHAGEN MARCH 6–8, 2019. The
submission website will be published soon; questions can be mailed to
Costanza at hum.ku.dk[16] (please put DHN2019 in the subject line).
SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE MARCH 15 for the special issue of /Computers and
Composition/ titled "Rhetorics of Data: Collection, Consent, &
Critical Digital Literacies[17].

CONFERENCE UPDATES
The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS for the 8th AIUCD Conference[18]
"Pedagogy, Reaching, and Research in the Age of Digital Humanities" in
Udine, Italy, from January 23 - 25, 2019 has been EXTENDED TO DECEMBER
15, 2018.
You can SIGN UP for the 2nd Computational Approaches to Intellectual
History and the History of Philosophy Symposium (11-12 December 2018,
Helsinki) until DECEMBER 4, 2018.

JOBS/SCHOLARSHIPS
The Göttingen University Library is looking for a coordinator[19] for
its DARIAH-DE project. The deadline is NOVEMBER 16, 2018.
The Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften is
hiring two research fellows, one in the field of search engine
infrastructure[20], the other in the field of corpus annotation[21].
The deadline is on NOVEMBER 22, 2018.
The Sächsische Landesbibliothek - Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek
Dresden is looking for a data curator[22] specialising in research
data management. The deadline is NOVEMBER 25, 2018.
EUROLAB is offering research grants[23] for one month research visits
at its research lab in Cologne. The deadline is NOVEMBER 30, 2018.
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is hiring a research fellow[24] for the
“Digitale Edition der internationalen Geschäftskorrespondenz von L.
Kniffler & Co., 1859 – 1876”. The deadline is DECEMBER 13, 2018.
Research Stream Assistant Professor position advertised at UBC’s
iSchool (Library, Archival and Information Studies). Fields of
interest: digital collections; cultural heritage and digital curation;
scholarly communication; and digital media and technologies. DEADLINE:

RECENT PUBLICATIONS/WEBSITES
The journal /American Quarterly /has just released its 2018 special
issue titled "Toward a Critically Engaged Digital Practice: American
Studies and the Digital Humanities[26]."
Visit the newly created blog The Middle East Digital Humanities
Digest[27] where digital humanists, librarians and scholars from Egypt
and the Middle East share and discuss their research within the field
of the digital humanities.
Volume 3, Issue 1 of the Journal of the Japanese Association for
Digital Humanities[28] (JJADH) was released! You can now explore the
open access articles.
The 9th issue “Text Collections[29]” of the review journal RIDE[30],
published by the Institute of Documentology and Scholarly Editing, is
out!
