Dear all,
(with apologies for cross-posting)
We are inviting applicants for two fully funded PhD scholarships in data visualisation for population health.
The projects aim to innovate new visualisation techniques to support decision-making that improves the life chances of young people.
Based at the reputable giCentre (https://www.gicentre.net/), the doctoral students will benefit from a highly dynamic research environment with a community of researchers from City, University of London and will work closely with population health experts and stakeholders at the purpose-built Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research (https://wolfsoncahr.uk/). This highly collaborative working environment supports real-world, interdisciplinary research that improves the health and wellbeing of underrepresented communities.
The first project has a machine learning / visual analytics focus and will look into ways to facilitate the communication between public health decision makers and data-driven insight: https://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DCN363/phd-in-visualisation-developing-and-visualising-a-retrieval-augmented-deep-learning-model-for-population-health
The second opportunity focuses on the storytelling power of visualisation and aims to design novel techniques that inform and empower communities of health service users to have a voice in designing better systems to maintain their health: https://www.jobs.ac.uk/job/DCN354/phd-in-visualisation-design-and-development-of-embedded-dashboards-for-routine-data-to-support-decision-making
