Come and join us! We are seeking for an engaged research engineer to work with us in the areas of information visualization and visual analytics. 

The advertised position (reference number: 2022/494-2.2.1) will be affiliated to the information visualization research group (ISOVIS) led by Professor Andreas Kerren (see http://cs.lnu.se/isovis/). The group is part of the national research infrastructure InfraVis and is with this advertisement recruiting a research engineer in information visualization for InfraVis.

InfraVis (https://infravis.se) is a national research infrastructure in support of scientific advancement through the application of state-of-the-art data analysis and visualization techniques. The goals of InfraVis are to significantly improve data analysis support, address new challenges involving large and complex data and create competitive advantages for Swedish researchers. The infrastructure consists of visualization experts working with various software solutions and access to high-end visualization laboratories. Users of InfraVis will be offered assistance through a national helpdesk as well as in-depth projects addressing specific data and software challenges. InfraVis will also provide software solutions based on development in connected research groups, curation of international software and best practice, and user training in the form of courses, seminars, and on-line documentation. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for support and development in the visualization of data. The general tasks include advanced user support, selection of suitable software, development of visualization tools, and training of user groups from many different research areas. Thus, the main duty is to provide service in context of the national infrastructure.

The employment is a permanent position (full-time). A PhD degree in information visualization, visual analytics, or equivalent from a related area is required.
