Dear all
Fixed-term research fellowship until 29 Feb 2020 (Application Closing Date: Tuesday 28 May 2019)
Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in information visualization? QuantiCode is a large, cross-disciplinary project that is funded by the EPSRC. The project is developing novel data mining and visualization tools and techniques, which transform people’s ability to analyse event sequence data. Such data are common in many sectors (e.g., health and retail).
The project is based in the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA), and involves collaboration with Leeds City Council, NHS Digital, Sainsbury’s, and four other organisations from industry and the public sector. The project ends on 29 February 2020, and you will lead the development and evaluation of a novel interactive visualization tool, which helps users to design and optimise data mining techniques.
Holding a PhD (or close to completion) in Computing or a closely allied discipline, you will have strong software engineering skills in Java, and knowledge and experience of current research in information visualization and human-computer interaction.
