Geospatial Data Services Postdoctoral Fellowship
The University of Colorado Boulder Libraries seeks applications for a 24-month postdoctoral fellowship to focus on creating a program of research support for the current and evolving geospatial research needs of faculty and students across disciplines. The Fellow will be instrumental in planning and developing library services related to creating, locating, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.
Responsibilities include:
* Develop event programming and outreach initiatives across campus to support geospatial research as well as digital scholarship and research data services more generally.
* Design and teach workshops and/or courses incorporating geospatial data topics, including data cleaning and structuring, data access, data literacy, and data visualization as well as on specific programs such as ArcGIS, Carto, QGIS and other tools.
* Collaborate with subject librarians on creating tailored instruction and resources supporting user engagement with geospatial approaches and on responding to geospatially related data queries, including the proper citation of geospatial data.
* Investigate needs and collaborate to expand current geospatial data curation services.
As part of a highly collaborative team in the University Libraries' Department of Open and Digital Scholarship and CU Boulder's Center for Research Data and Digital Scholarship, this position plays a key role in the University's educational mission by establishing strong relationships with faculty and students, and collaborating with Libraries colleagues to connect them to the resources, technologies and tools that meet their research, teaching and learning needs. The fellow will report to the director of the Department of Open and Digital Scholarship.

Qualifications
Required
* PhD completed after Jan. 1, 2014, and before beginning the fellowship (see CLIR's eligibility requirements<https://www.clir.org/fellowships/postdoc/applicants/>)
* Experience working with geospatial data for research
* Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a team environment
* Strong verbal and written communication abilities; excellent interpersonal skills
* Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Desired
* Demonstrated commitment to and experience teaching
* Experience with geospatial analysis using GIS analysis software or programming languages, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, R, Python, etc.
* Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques
* Familiarity with data management, data cleaning, and data description including geospatial metadata

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is in the range of $55,000-$65,000 plus benefits, depending on qualifications. Travel related to participation in the fellowship program will be paid by the University Libraries.
