Instructor- ATLAS Institute

The growing ATLAS Institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder seeks an instructor whose work demonstrates a deep understanding of design and computation. CU Boulder is a dynamic community of scholars and learners situated on one of the most spectacular college campuses in the country. As one of 34 U.S. public institutions belonging to the prestigious Association of American Universities--and the only member in the Rocky Mountain region– CU Boulder has a proud tradition of academic excellence.

ATLAS seeks candidates who are fluent in design, computing, and creative technology, who employ technology in their creative work or research, and pursue unorthodox and unique approaches. Candidates should have a deep knowledge in their area of expertise, which might include, but are not limited to, 3D modeling and animation, data visualization, full-stack web development or AR/VR. Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with significant teaching and administrative experience. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will aspire to be a master teacher, able to mentor students and work with faculty from diverse disciplines and backgrounds; who will help develop curriculum and other programmatic initiatives that encourage curiosity, creativity, and above all an inclusive and diverse community.

The ATLAS Institute is home to degree programs at all levels in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS), including an undergraduate major, minor and certificate, Master’s, and PhD. The undergraduate Technology, Arts, and Media program promotes innovative work in creative technology and design within an interdisciplinary environment; the Master’s program has tracks in Creative Technologies + Design and Information and Computing Technology for Development (computing for social impact). Our curriculum includes small studio courses that integrate hands-on project-based learning. Teaching responsibilities include seminars, lectures and studios at undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to an undergraduate major housed in the College of Engineering, the ATLAS Institute engages students from diverse disciplines with a wide range of skills and backgrounds.
