The School of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University invites
applications for tenure-track faculty. We have multiple openings and will
consider applications at all ranks, including assistant, associate, and full
professor. Excellent candidates in all areas of computer science are
encouraged to apply.
A successful candidate will be expected to lead a team of graduate students
in research and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in research. A record of,
or potential for (in the case of a junior candidate), high-quality graduate
student supervision, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
is expected. A Ph.D. in computer science or related area is required by the
start of the appointment. Strategically important research expertise is
sought, that builds on or complements existing strengths. Applicants with a
commitment to the advancement of women and minorities in computer science
are a priority.
Exceptional candidates may be invited to apply for a Tier 2 Canada Research

Secretariat.
Simon Fraser University is located in metropolitan Vancouver, one of the
most livable cities in the world. The School of Computing Science has
consistently ranked among the top computer science departments in Canada and
internationally. The School currently has 52 faculty members, approximately
250 Ph.D. and M.Sc. students, and more than1800 undergraduate majors.

subject to availability of funding and approval by the SFU Board of
Governors.
