POSTDOC Volume Visualization Project @ Trinity College Dublin's GV2 Group
Applicants are sought who have a recent (or expecting soon) PhD or
equivalent qualification and experience in volume visualization, volume
graphics, high-performance computing, scientific visualization OR other
related area.
Candidates should have a track record of publications in international
conferences, be fluent in the English language and should have
leadership skills and be able to work in a team. Candidates should have
excellent software engineering skills and be familiar with the
state-of-the-art in research and existing solutions for volume
visualization.
Successful applicants will contribute to the implementation of the
project objectives [see: https://gv2.scss.tcd.ie/artivvis/] and will be
expected to publish papers, co-supervise PhD and MSc students and make
some contribution of effort to project administration and project
reporting.
DETAILS OF POSITION:
Salary is offered on Science Foundation Ireland's salary scale for
Researchers and is dependent on the level of experience of the
candidate. The starting salary for a recent PhD graduate is EUR 33,500 –
41,100 gross per annum, adjustable based on level experience. In
addition, research costs and travel to conferences will be funded.

Media Engineering, Trinity College, Dublin Ireland.
The Trinity Centre for Creative Technologies & Media Engineering
[https://creative.mee.tcd.ie/] integrates the disciplines of creative
arts and media technology with the fundamentals of information
engineering. Researchers at the Centre push the boundaries in a swathe
of technologies across digital entertainment, consumer electronics,
education, health, active ageing and art. The breadth of activity in the
centre is enabled by advances made here in digital signal processing,
data science and computer vision/graphics/animation.
The centre involves two internationally well known research groups, the
media signal processing research group Sigmedia and the graphics, vision
and visualization group GV2 [http://gv2.scss.tcd.ie/]. Researchers at
the Centre have founded companies in the entertainment technology sector
that were acquired by Google and Intel. Centre researchers were also
involved with Oscar winning technology.
