Post-Doctoral Researcher in Information Visualization
UIC Electronic Visualization Laboratory

The Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois--Chicago (UIC)
seeks a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in the areas of
visualization and human-computer interaction to work on a DARPA-funded
project under the direction of Dr. Angus Forbes. The project will be
carried out within the Electronic Visualization Laboratory and involves
researching and developing information visualization systems for
representing and interacting with biological networks across multiple
layers of abstraction. Funding is available for up to three years; the
appointment will begin in Fall 2014 or shortly thereafter.

Applicants should have a PhD in computer science or a closely related
discipline. Ideally, applicants will have strong experience in designing
and evaluating visualization systems. Experience with (or interest in
learning) the following technologies and/or areas is desired: network
visualization, visual analytics, biological visualization, SBML and SBGN,
and immersive systems. We are accepting applications through October 1st,
2014, or until position is filled.
