Research Scientist - Big Data/Rendering
The Imaging and Computer Vision technology field of Siemens Corporate Technology has an immediate opening in Princeton, NJ for a full-time
Research Scientist - Visualization and Imaging Architecture position. Ideal candidates will have in-depth knowledge of high performance rendering,
computer graphics, and strong software development skills.

creative professional team that brings state-of-the art high performance visualization from concept, to prototype, and to translate into practical
product solutions that impacts real life.
What are my responsibilities?
. Perform research & development in the area of distributed, collaborative visualization/interactions and processing architecture.
. Perform translational research in the area of high performance 2D/3D/nD image, vector/tensor field visualization.
. Implement high quality working solutions for commercial, scientific or industrial applications.
. Quick prototyping, feasibility studies, specifications and implementation of software components, present high quality presentations about the outcome
to internal and external audience
. Liaison between internal and external industry and academic partners.
. Innovate state-of-the-art clinical relevant computer graphics techniques and be active in scientific journal publications
What skills are needed to qualify for this job?
. MS in Computer Engineering or relevant discipline required along with thesis in visualization. PhD a plus.
. Internship or graduate research experience including papers required.
. 1-2 years Industry experience in medical visualization, gaming or graphical simulations preferred.
. Proven record in advanced image/model visualization/animation techniques, software and hardware optimizations
. Proven knowledge in data streaming protocols and data reduction techniques
. Strong experience in hands-on software architecture, including reuseable component design and web based components.
. Ability to develop new research ideas to the level of a working system prototype.
. Ability to quickly prototype in C/C++/Java and translate implementation to robust product components
. Advanced CPU/GPU programming (OpenCL, OpenGL, CUDA) and optimization experience is a must.
. Dynamic with outstanding interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills in English required.
. Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
. Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
. Motivated to accept challenges and responsibilities.
. Driven , flexible and adaptable in order to thrive in a growing and dynamic team.
. Successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
