The Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Statistics invites 
applications for a

* Junior Professorship (W1) (for a period of 3 years) of Media Informatics *

commencing as soon as possible.

The primary tasks of the successful candidate include the representation 
of one or more special areas of media informatics in research and 
teaching. Appropriate specializations are for example computer graphics, 
interaction technologies or information visualization, but any other 
specializations, which complement and enhance the profile of the media 
informatics group are also welcome.

Prerequisites for this position are a university degree, teaching skills 
at university level and an aptitude for an academic career, usually 
evidenced by the excellent quality of a doctoral degree. If the 
applicant was employed as a research assistant either before or after 
obtaining the doctoral degree, the entire duration of the period of 
employment and of the doctoral degree should not exceed six years.

The candidate is expected to participate in the Department's general 
teaching program and should be able to teach in German within two years.

The position is a fixed-term professorship for the duration of three 
years. Pending a positive evaluation, the position may be extended by 
another period of three years. A conversion to an indefinite position 
(tenure track) is not possible.
