Dear Colleagues,
Apologies for cross-posting.

This is a friendly reminder that submissions are open for the ACM Symposium on Spatial User Interaction (SUI 2026) Posters and Demos tracks. We are also pleased to announce the Call for Student Volunteers.
SUI 2026 will take place on October 10–11, 2026 in Bari, Italy, immediately after IEEE ISMAR 2026. SUI is a premier venue for research on spatial user interfaces and interactions, bringing together researchers and practitioners working across virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, as well as other spatial computing environments. We welcome contributions showcasing work in progress, late-breaking results, novel ideas, systems, prototypes, applications, and interactive demonstrations related to spatial user interaction.

Important Dates
Call for Posters
Submission Deadline: July 17, 2026, 23:59 AoE
Notification: July 31, 2026, 23:59 AoE
Camera Ready: August 7, 2026, 23:59 AoE

Call for Demos

Call for Student Volunteers
Application Deadline: July 27, 2026
Final Notification: July 30, 2026

Conference: October 10–11, 2026

Call for Posters
The poster track is an excellent opportunity to present unpublished work, receive feedback, network with experts, and initiate collaborations.
We invite posters describing work in progress, novel ideas or systems, late-breaking results, and prototypes relevant to spatial interaction for virtual, augmented, mixed reality, as well as pervasive, intelligent/smart, and real environments.
Poster submissions should include a two-page abstract in the ACM SIG Proceedings format. Poster submissions are not anonymous, and authors are encouraged to submit the abstract in camera-ready format together with an initial poster design draft.

Call for Demos
The demo track invites researchers and practitioners to showcase implementations of novel and compelling interaction concepts, techniques, devices, and systems.
We particularly encourage highly interactive demos and creative experiences, including novel wearables, web systems, prototype devices, commercial products, XR experiences, and large interactive installations.
Demo submissions should include a two-page abstract in the ACM SIG Proceedings format, a short walk-through video of up to 2 minutes, and supporting material describing the system, setup, equipment, interaction with the audience, and any specific logistical needs.

Topics of Interest
We welcome contributions across a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:

  *
Spatial input devices and technologies
  *
Intelligent and adaptive spatial interfaces
  *
Interaction design, UX, and usability
  *
Perception, cognition, and human factors
  *
Multimodal and multisensory interaction, e.g., haptics, audio, gesture
  *
Collaborative and distributed spatial interaction
  *
Immersive analytics and visualization
  *
Spatial interaction with avatars, data, and virtual humans
  *
Inclusion, accessibility, privacy, and ethics
  *
Applications in gaming, healthcare, education, CAD, and engineering
  *
Smart spatial computing and GenAI
  *
Interactive systems, prototypes, installations, and demonstrators

Call for Student Volunteers
SUI 2026 is looking for motivated student volunteers to support the conference on-site in Bari, Italy. Volunteers will assist with registration, attendee support, scientific sessions, poster and demo sessions, and general event logistics. In return, student volunteers will receive free conference registration, access to the full conference and its social activities, and a significant discount on the gala dinner fee.
Applicants should be enrolled in an undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral program at the time of the conference, be available to attend SUI 2026 in Bari, and commit approximately 10 to 15 hours of volunteer work before and during the event. No prior experience is required; motivation, reliability, English communication skills, and interest in AR, VR, MR, and spatial interaction are what matter most. We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups and countries in the community to apply.
