Tushar Athawale, David Pugmire, and Antigoni Georgiadou from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, along with Chris Johnson and Paul Rosen from the University of Utah, Kristi Potter from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Tim Gerrits from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen University, and Nadia Boukhelifa from the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, are excited to announce the 2025 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) workshop on, “Uncertainty Visualization: Unraveling Relationships of Uncertainty, AI, and Decision-Making”. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the 2025 <https://ieeevis.org/year/2025/welcome> IEEE VIS Conference<https://ieeevis.org/year/2025/welcome> in Vienna, Austria, November 2-7, 2025.

Uncertainty in data, algorithms, and processes is a big obstacle to reliable analysis and decision-making. Furthermore, the use of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming pervasive across scientific domains, but it faces a major limitation of trustworthiness of predictions due to uncertainties propagated from the data and AI models.

The Call for Papers for this workshop invites you to submit short/full papers on the topics related to visualization, analysis, and treatment of uncertainty stemming from data, algorithms, and ML/AI workflows used in a broad range of science and application domains, including visualization, material science, energy science, and quantum computing, for trusted scientific discovery (more information can be found in the link below).

The deadline for submission is July 10, 2025.
