Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to announce the upcoming workshop GenAI-XR: Generative Artificial Intelligence meets Extended Reality, held in conjunction with IEEE VR 2025 in Saint-Malo, France, March 8-12, 2025.
Workshop Overview:
The GenAI-XR workshop explores the integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Extended Reality (XR) to address innovative applications, technical challenges, and ethical concerns. The workshop aims to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and advance the understanding of how these technologies can enhance immersive experiences across domains such as healthcare, education, entertainment, industry, and design.
Call for Papers:
We invite researchers and practitioners to submit their original work on topics including (but not limited to):
- integration of GenAI models (e.g., diffusion models) with XR for dynamic contents generation (be it text, image, video, 3D models, soundscapes, etc.);
- development of techniques for enhancing user experience through AI-generated narratives, personalized avatars, virtual agents, and real-time environment adaptation;
- utilizing real-time multi-modal XR (spatial computing) input to generative models for context awareness;
- highlighting practical applications of GenAI-XR in healthcare, education, industrial, entertainment, arts, design, and other fields;
- addressing technical challenges such as latency and computational efficiency, as well as ethical concerns related to privacy, data usage, and the authenticity of AI-generated content;
- developing collaborative, multi-user XR environments powered by generative AI that support co-creation and interaction in real time.
Submissions:
- Research Papers: up to 6 pages describing original research in the above topics.
- Short Papers: up to 4 pages presenting work in progress or conceptual ideas.
- Technical Artifacts: up to 2 pages for demos, tools, datasets, or artistic installations (with video or repository submissions).
Submissions will undergo a single-blind review process. Accepted long and short papers will be archived in the adjunct conference proceedings. Previously published papers are welcome but will not be archived.
Important Dates:
- Paper Submission: December 12, 2024, 23:59 AoE
- Notification of Acceptance: January 9, 2025
- Camera-ready Deadline: January 16, 2025
