[Ieee_vis] Conferences: Call for IEEE VGTC Virtual Reality Technical Awards

The IEEE VGTC VR Technical Awards program recognizes individuals who have
made a significant contribution to the community through their research.

Anyone may nominate individuals by emailing the Chair (Henry Fuchs) at
vgtc-vr-awards at vgtc.org with a brief rationale by October 31, 2020. Please
highlight contributions based on the criteria below. The Technical Awards
Committee compiles a list of nominated individuals and examines each
carefully, along with others the committee feels are worthy of
consideration.

Nominations should include:

- Name, address, phone number, and email address of the nominator
- Name and email address of the candidate
- Suggested citation (maximum of 25 words)
- Nomination statement (maximum of 500 words in length) addressing why the
candidate should receive this award

*IEEE VGTC Virtual Reality Technical Achievement Award*
The Virtual Reality Technical Achievement Award is given each year to
recognize an individual for a seminal technical achievement in virtual and
augmented reality.
Criteria:

- Technical depth.
- Significance of the research contribution.
- Development of new research directions.
- Reasonably active participant in the IEEE VR community, although people
outside of this community with outstanding and relevant achievements are
considered in exceptional circumstances

*IEEE VGTC Virtual Reality Career Award*
The Virtual Reality Career Award is given to an individual to honor that
person's lifetime contribution to virtual and augmented reality.

Criteria:

- Cumulative contributions to the field.
- Influence on the work of others.
- Development of new research directions.
- Reasonably active participant in the IEEE VR community, although people
outside of this community with outstanding and relevant achievements are
considered in exceptional circumstances
