Cornell Tech and the XR Access Initiative are pleased to announce the 2020
XR Access Symposium! This will be held virtually on July 20 and 21, 2020.
If you’re interested in virtual or augmented reality or accessibility, keep
reading!

At the first Symposium, organized by Cornell Tech and Verizon Media in
Summer 2019, over 120 researchers, technologists, advocates, and industry
leaders gathered for talks, demos, and working group sessions that
generated actionable plans for making XR more accessible. For the past
year, that’s been our mission: to ensure that as XR technologies become
more pervasive in our work, school, and social lives, they’ll be designed
and developed to be accessible by and for people with disabilities.

At the 2020 XR Access Symposium, we’ll review the community’s progress over
the past year, highlight the latest advancements in XR accessibility
research, and lay out concrete steps we can all take toward a more
accessible future.

We’re planning a series of virtual talks, tech demos, and breakout sessions
for working groups and researchers, spread over two days. We’re also
excited to welcome research presentations from the XR Access Workshop at
IMX 2020 to the Symposium. Other speakers and an agenda will be announced
over the coming months, so keep checking back for the latest updates.

The 2020 Symposium will be held entirely online. If you’re interested in
attending, please fill out the form on our website
