CALL- IEEE VGTC 2020 Awards nominations

As the IEEE VGTC Technical Awards chair I invite nominations for the 2020 Visualization Technical and Career awards.  The awards will be presented in the opening session of the 2020 VIS conference. Nominations may be brief, and must be received by MAY 15, 2020. Send nominations to Holly Rushmeier, holly at acm.org.

The IEEE VGTC Visualization Career Award was established in 2004.  It is given every year to an individual to honor that person’s lifetime contribution to visualization. Previous recipients of the award are Bill Lorensen, Arie Kaufman, Pat Hanrahan, Stuart Card, Lawrence Rosenblum,  Hans Hagen, Chris Johnson, Frits Post, Ben Shneiderman, Gregory Nielson, Ken Joy, Markus Gross, John Dill, Charles Hansen Sheelagh Carpendale and Tom Ertl.


The IEEE VGTC Technical Achievement Award was also established in 2004. It is given every year to recognize an individual for a seminal technical achievement in visualization. Previous recipients of the award are  Amitabh Varshney, Charles Hansen, Thomas Ertl, Jarke J. van Wijk, David Laidlaw, Jock Mackinlay, Hanspeter Pfister, Daniel Keim, John Stasko, Kwan-Liu Ma, Claudio Silva,  Tamara Munzner, David Ebert, Jeffrey Heer, Anders Ynnerman and Eduard Groeller.
