The CAAV conference for VR and other advanced media displays
will be held next month (October 15-17) in Bloomington Indiana
at the Indiana Memorial Union. Early bird registration for the
conference ends Friday September 6th.

The CAAV organization (Campus Alliance for Advanced Visualization)
is a user-group for people using advanced visualization displays. We
have an annual conference to get together and share ideas and issues.
It leans being more informal than other conferences (no papers
involved), and is a nice place to give presentations on current projects
to an interested audience that wants to learn.

The official call-for-abstracts is now out for the 2019 THE CAAV
conference, which will be held here in Bloomington, Indiana this
October (15-17).

One change to the instructions on the attached PDF, the deadline
for abstract submission is now September 6th (this Friday), but
people coming to listen to the presentations are also of course
welcome.

We accept both presentation and technology demonstration abstracts,
which can be sent to "thecaav at uwyo.edu".

Note you do have to be a member of the group to participate, but there
is no cost to join, and minimal emails throughout the year.

In addition to the presentations and demonstrations from participants,
some highlights will be a demonstration of the DP Multi-view projector
given by Mechdyne; an evening event on the 15th showing off some of
the AVL technology, including an 8x4 tiled stereo IQ-wall; and then on
the 16th we have a bowling and billiards party at the Indiana Memorial
Union (which is also our conference site and hotel). We are also
trying to get a CLED display running stereoscopic images to demonstrate.
