*Promoting and fostering inclusion is important to IEEE VIS. This year, the
IEEE VIS community is providing opportunities to underrepresented groups as
well as educating the community on the benefits of a more inclusive culture
and programming. Acknowledging the uniqueness of each individual, IEEE VIS
seeks to cultivate an environment that encourages freedom of expression. As
part of our efforts, we are proud to announce a variety of programs and
opportunities that are focused on inclusion and diversity. Returning this
year is the VISKids Childcare Grants program.New This Year--IEEE VIS is
pleased to announce a Code of Conductfor the conference and associated
events. IEEE Vis is also excited to announce the inauguralVIS Inclusivity &

Inclusivity & Diversity ScholarshipsIEEE VIS welcomes and encourages
participation by people of all backgrounds and identities. We are committed
to fostering and sustaining an environment of respect and inclusivity. To
increase participation by underrepresented or historically marginalized
groups, IEEE VIS is offering need-based scholarships for conference
attendance. We invite you to submit your application online.Eligible
applicants are from underrepresented and/or marginalized groups including
but not limited to: gender, identity, race, ethnicity, disabilities,
discipline. Applicants must be aged 18 years or older. Preference will be
given to applicants with a demonstrated financial need (e.g., undergraduate
students that are not currently funded for visualization research) and
applicants who are new to the visualization research community.The VIS 2018
Inclusivity & Diversity Scholarship Committee will review applications
based on eligibility, need, and impact. Scholarships awarded will include
complementary conference registration, up to $1000 per recipient for travel
and subsistence, an assigned mentor to guide award recipients through the

2018=======================VISKids Childcare GrantsVISKids provides child
care grants since 2015. As part of Inclusivity and Diversity at IEEE VIS,
VISKids also organize activities at the conference, and has a meeting room
at the site. The activities and the room are open to everyone, not just
awardees of the child care grant program.VISKids Child CareGrants of up to
$500 per family are available for VIS attendees who are bringing small
children to the conference or who incur extra expenses in leaving their
children at home. The grants will be given as a reimbursement for expenses
but attendees are responsible for making their own arrangements for child
care. If requests exceed available funding, or if additional funding
becomes available, preference will be given to students and early career
attendees who are presenting at the conference.For more information and to

worth of every person by being respectful of all. IEEE VIS does not
