*IEEE VIS 2018============http://ieeevis.org/ <http://ieeevis.org/>Oct
21-26 2018, Berlin, GermanyIEEE VIS 2018 is the premier forum for advances
in visualization. The event-packed week brings together researchers and
practitioners from academia, government, and industry to explore their
shared interests in tools, techniques, and technology. We invite you to
participate in IEEE Visual Analytics Science and Technology (VAST), IEEE
Information Visualization (InfoVis), and IEEE Scientific Visualization
(SciVis) by sharing your research, insights, experience, and enthusiasm.We
solicit Visualization in Data Science and Meetups submissions, and Posters
for LDAV for IEEE VIS 2018 in Berlin, Germany. In addition, VISKids Child
Care Grants submissions are now open, as is conference and hotel
registration!====================Diversity
Scholarships====================IEEE VIS 2018 provides Diversity
Scholarships, which are intended to support early career researchers from
underrepresented groups in computer science to broaden participation. The
Inclusivity and Diversity program
(http://ieeevis.org/year/2018/info/inclusion-and-diversity/inclusivity
<http://ieeevis.org/year/2018/info/inclusion-and-diversity/inclusivity>)
provides grants to VIS attendees to pay for registration and other costs
incurred while attending the VIS conference. Please contact
inclusivity at ieeevis.org <inclusivity at ieeevis.org> for any questions
regarding this program.====================Symposium on Visualization in
Data Science (VDS)====================Submission deadline: July 16, 2018The
rapid growth of data science has increased awareness of visualization as a
vital part of sophisticated data analysis. After three highly successful
events, the fourth Symposium on Visualization in Data Science (VDS) will
again be held at IEEE VIS 2018. VDS will bring together domain scientists
and methods researchers (including visualization, usability and HCI, data
management, statistics, machine learning, and software engineering) to
describe and expand the role of visualization in the current practice and
future directions of data science. In addition to discussing common
interests and practical issues, we hope to address open research problems,
such as creating visual interfaces that scale with data size and
complexity, and finding new ways of revealing and applying techniques of
machine learning and quantitative statistics. We solicit contributions in
the form of papers and abstracts / talks. Extended versions of selected
papers will appear in the IEEE Transactions on Big Data.For details, visit

<vds at ieeevis.org>====================Meetups====================Submission
deadline: August 3, 2018 Do you want to meet people who share the same
interests with you, discuss a topic that you care about or that brings the
visualization community forward, or share viewpoints and experiences to
foster community building? If yes, don’t wait, and submit a meetup
proposal! Meetups are an excellent forum to discuss a wide range of topics
related to visualization. Be it to share your knowledge in an informal
setting, to discuss methods and trends in visualization research, to
provide information about the VIS organisation, or to plan a social event,
the possibilities are yours to imagine! Meetups are public and open forum
to everyone (the meetup organizers need to register at the conference). For
details, visit http://ieeevis.org/year/2018/info/call-participation/meetups

Care Grants====================Submission deadline: September 4, 2018The
VIS conference is excited to support our VISKids and young families! Grants
of up to $500 per family are available for VIS attendees who are bringing
small children to the conference or who incur extra expenses in leaving
their children at home. If requests exceed available funding, or if
additional funding becomes available, preference will be given to students
and early career attendees who are presenting at the conference.For details

VISKids at ieeevis.org <VISKids at ieeevis.org> ====================LDAV
====================Poster Submission Deadline: August 24, 2018We invite
you to submit to the IEEE LDAV 2018 Poster Program. Interested authors
should submit a two-page abstract that either:(1) showcases successful
stories of applying visualization to large-scale data intensive
application, or(2) highlights recent such visualization work presented or
published in another venue. Accepted poster abstracts will be included in
the symposium proceedings.Modern large-scale scientific simulations, sensor
networks, and experiments are generating enormous datasets. Managing and
analyzing large datasets to generate insights is critical for a variety of
disciplines including climate science, nuclear physics, security, materials
design, transportation, and urban planning. The 8th IEEE Large Scale Data
Analysis and Visualization (LDAV) symposium, to be held in conjunction with
IEEE VIS 2018, is specifically targeting methodological innovation,
algorithmic foundations, and possible end-to-end solutions. The LDAV
symposium will bring together domain scientists, data analysts,
visualization researchers, and users to foster common ground for solving
both near- and long-term problems.For details, visit http://ldav.org/
