[Ieee_vis] FINAL CALL- IEEE VGTC Visualization Awards nominations

[Call for Papers - VGTC]

As the incoming IEEE VGTC Visualization Technical Awards Chair, I invite
nominations for the 2017 Visualization Career and Technical Achievement
Awards.  The awards will be presented in the opening session of the 2017
VIS conference, http://ieeevis.org/. Nominations may be brief, and must be
received by MAY 15, 2017. Send nominations to Holly Rushmeier, holly at acm.org

The IEEE VGTC Visualization Career Award was established in 2004.  It is
given every year to an individual to honor that person’s lifetime
contribution to visualization. Previous recipients of the award are Bill
Lorensen, Arie Kaufman, Pat Hanrahan, Stuart Card, Lawrence Rosenblum,
Hans Hagen, Chris Johnson, Frits Post, Ben Shneiderman, Gregory Nielson,
Ken Joy, Markus Gross, and John Dill.

The IEEE VGTC Technical Achievement Award was also established in 2004. It
is given every year to recognize an individual for a seminal technical
achievement in visualization. Previous recipients of the award are  Amitabh
Varshney, Charles Hansen, Thomas Ertl, Jarke J. van Wijk, David Laidlaw,
Jock Mackinlay, Hanspeter Pfister, Daniel Keim, John Stasko, Kwan-Liu Ma,
Claudio Silva,  Tamara Munzner, and David Ebert.
