Dear colleagues,

We would like to remind you that the deadline for submitting EuroVis State of The Art Reports (Jan 16th) is quickly approaching.

As stated in the call (http://www.eurovis2015.it/for-submitters/cfp-stars ), the submission must contain all the elements for taking an informed decision and be in an "almost" complete version, that means that submissions with some drafted sections may be considered.
More details on the submission process are posted on the dedicated webpage:http://www.eurovis2015.it/for-submitters/submission-guidelines .
Feel free to contact the co-chairs at the email address stars-ev2015 at crs4.it
for any questions you may have.

Looking forward to your submissions

Best wishes from,
Rita, Fabio, and Ivan

:::::::::::::  FP: State-of-the-Art Reports (STARS) :::::::::::::::::::::

EuroVis 2015 is the 17th annual scientific gathering on visualization jointly organized by the Eurographics Working Group on Data Visualization and the IEEE Visualization and Graphics Technical Committee. Based on the continued growth and success of the event, EuroVis will be a conference for the fourth time. EuroVis 2015 will be held in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy, May 25-29, 2015.

For the second time, EuroVis 2015 features a State-of-the-Art Report (STAR) track. State-of-the-Art Reports (STARs) are intended to provide up-to-date and comprehensive surveys on topics of interest to the visualization research community. We encourage the submission of STARs on topics that have not yet been covered in any recent previous STAR. We welcome submissions that introduce emerging technologies, as well as proposals on more traditional visualization topics. We also welcome contributions from related disciplines and application areas demonstrating contributions to or benefits from the area of visualization including, but not limited to: Visual Computing, Computer Graphics, Human-Computer Interaction, Photogrammetry, Virtual Reality, Image Processing, Computer Vision, Psychology, Geography, Chemistry, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Data Analysis, Computational Sciences, Medicine, Biology, Economy, Politology, etc.

Important Dates
The submission deadline is 23:59GMT, Friday January 16th, 2015.

Please see the important dates page for more details.

Submission
Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of the contribution quality and topic suitability for presentation in a STAR format, the past experience and qualifications of the authors and the overall balance in the program. A STAR submission should be an almost complete version of the planned STAR, outlining the topic, documenting its relation and relevance to the visualization community, including a planned table of contents and a major subset of the targeted literature references, as well as including brief biographies of the authors, demonstrating their qualification to produce the proposed STAR. Such a proposal should be 10-20 pages (at most) in length, including references; submissions can also include supplementary material.

For detailed paper preparation and submission instructions please refer to the guidelines in the submitters area of the conference web pages.
