IEEE GrC 2014 Call for Papers

The 2014 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing (IEEE Grc2014),
October 22-24, 2014, Noboribetsu, Hokkaido, Japan
http://ieee-grc2014.org/

Granular computing (GrC) is an emerging computation theory for effectively using granules such as classes, clusters, subsets, groups and intervals to build an efficient computational model for complex applications with huge amounts of data, information and knowledge. It concerns the processing of complex information entities called information granules, which are collections of entities that usually originate at the numeric level and are arranged together due to their similarity, functional or physical adjacency, coherency, or the like. Granular computing offers a landmark change from the current machine-centric to human-centric approach to information and knowledge. The theoretical foundations of granular computing are exceptionally sound and involve set theory (interval mathematics), fuzzy sets, rough sets, and random sets linked together in a highly comprehensive treatment of this emerging paradigm.

The 2014 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing (IEEE Grc2014) will continue to address the issues related to Granular Computing and its applications. It will provide researchers from universities, laboratories and industry to present state-of-the-art research results and methodologies in theory and applications of granular computing. The conference will also make it possible for researchers and developers to highlight their new research directions and new interactions with novel computing models. To broaden more impact on granular computing and its applications, IEEE GrC 2014 will focus on currently important major research tracks such as software engineering, information security, cloud computing, data intelligence , and bioinformatics. We solicit high-quality original research papers (including significant work-in-progress) in any aspect of Granular Computing. Topics include but are not limited to:
