Apologies for cross posting & please share with graduate students!

----

The IEEE Visualization & Graphics Technical Committee (VGTC) is pleased to
announce the VGTC Scholars program, a collective of graduate students who
are actively engaged with innovative research in areas relevant to VGTC.
The VGTC Scholars will blog and host discussions on the new VGTC.org
website, to enliven the community through raising topics which are on the
forefront of research or important to the community. Scholars will also
blog about VGTC-sponsored conferences they attend.

Each Scholar will be recognized on the new VGTC website (launching soon),
and receive a remuneration of US $350. Scholars will be expected to each
post at least 4 blog articles per year. Terms are for one year renewable.
This is a great opportunity to get your name out there as a recognized
innovative thinker and community builder!

We are seeking 6 strong graduate students to become VGTC Scholars, one in
each of the following areas:

- Information visualization
- Visual analytics
- Scientific visualization
- 3D user interfaces
- Virtual reality
- Mixed and augmented reality

All graduate students are welcome to apply, but preference will be given to
PhD students with a strong publication record. Having a personal blog or
active social media presence will strengthen your application.

If you are interested, please send the following:

- Your name and student status
- A list of publications or a link to your online CV
- Links to relevant blogs or other social media participation, if applicable
- A paragraph describing a topic you would like to write about during your
tenure as a VGTC Scholar

In the subject of your email, please include which of the six areas you are
interested in.

Emails should be sent to vgtc.scholars at gmail.com.

We will be accepting applications until all positions are filled or until
October 18.
