Dear colleagues,

Please find below an interesting initiative from the Spanish government for
PhD students.

I would kindly ask you to advertise it among your contacts. Note that the
deadline for application is already next week.

The Spanish government has released a call to promote young PhD students to
undertake research projects that are linked to key industrial and societal
needs to improve global food security. Plant Response Biotech Ltd., a
spin-off company based in Madrid and already engaged in collaborative
projects with the ZMBP (University of Tübingen, Germany) is seeking for
applicants that in the case of successful funding will integrate
translational research programs while preparing their PhD at the Universidad
Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). The research area will encompass topics related
to crop bio-protection, bio-stimulation of plant growth and disease
resistance engineering through molecular breeding. The closing date for
application is the 1st of March, 2016 with expected start in
September-October. Candidates are invited to contact Mr. Eduardo Quemada
(Tel. +34-914524838, email: <mailto:eduardo.quemada at plantresponse>
eduardo.quemada at plantresponse. com) for further information. Also you can
visit <http://www.plantresponse.com> www.plantresponse.com for more
information about the company and research programs.”
