Dear colleagues,
I thought it would be of interest to some of you get informed about Sense
About Science, a charitable British trust that is doing a great work in
communicating sound science to the general public via several instruments.
They work together with scientists, journalists and members of the public to
tackle scientific misconceptions by advocating the importance of scientific
evidence.
Especially interesting for early career researchers is their programme
Voice of Young Science, that encourages and provides advice to young
scientists on how to communicate their research and play an active role in
public debates. This is done via very interesting and engaging workshops
(usually free of charge) and a lot of information online.
Its worth to check: http://www.senseaboutscience.org/pages/our-work.html
If you are interested in expanding your publishing record to the general
public, one other interesting possibility is to contribute to The
Conversation. This is an independent source of news and commentaries that
are directly sourced from the scientific community to the public. The pieces
are written by experts in each area, in a way to provide a better
understanding of complex issues, assuring the quality of public discussions.
Also worth to check, the articles are a nice read:

Please share this with colleagues you think might be interested.
Best wishes,
Marília
