Chair for Efficient Algorithms – TUM Campus Heilbronn<br>

The Chair for Efficient Algorithms (https://www.cs.cit.tum.de/algo/), headed by Prof. Stephen Kobourov, is seeking a motivated PhD student for research in graph and network visualization, dimensionality reduction, and visual analytics. This position is based
at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) Campus Heilbronn, a vibrant research center with a strong focus on AI, data science, and human-centered computing.<br>
<br>
Our group works at the intersection of algorithms, machine learning, and interactive visual interfaces. Topics include:<br>
- Graph drawing and layout algorithms (including dynamic and high-dimensional visualizations)<br>
- Visualization in non-Euclidean spaces (e.g., spherical or hyperbolic)<br>
- Perceptual studies and evaluation methods<br>
- Interactive systems for exploring complex networks<br>

Position Details:<br>
- Full-time position, TV-L E13 scale (~€52k–€75k/year gross)<br>
- 30 days annual leave, full benefits<br>
