Possible research topics include, but are not limited to probabilistic models, lifted learning, interpretable machine learning, fairness, causal inference, deep learning, learning for reproducibility, interactive machine learning, pattern recognition, computer vision, human-centered AI, and knowledge discovery.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-family:"Arial",sans-serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=EN-US style='font-family:"Arial",sans-serif'>We are looking for applicants with an outstanding research and teaching track record in the field of information and data science with successful acquisition of third-party funding. Interdisciplinary research building applications with real data, e.g., in medicine, biology, natural sciences, or industry is desired. We expect interactions with existing research topics and interdisciplinary cooperations. High-performance computing capabilities will be available at the Regional Computing Center Cologne (RRZK). Thematic link to the Center for Data and Simulation Science (CDS) is intended.
