<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US">Within a collaborative research project between the research group „magnetic resonance“ at the Institute of Medical Microbiology, Jena University Hospital, Germany, and the Institute of Computer
Science at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany, a third-party funded research assistant position (50% E13) is offered from 01.01.2019 until 30.06.2020 in 4D flow visualization.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US">4D Phase-Contrast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (4D PC-MRI) is a suitable technique to investigate blood flow behavior in the great vessels and to detect pathologic changes in the arterial system
e.g. of aneurysms, valvular heart diseases, and atherosclerosis. Besides accurate quantification of flow velocities, flow patterns can be reconstructed by streamlines and pathlines and flow abnormalities quantified by their vorticity or wall shear stress.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US">Within the funded project flow visualization tools for 4D flow simulation based on real 4D PC-MRI datasets will be developed to get a deeper understanding in hemodynamics and to identify pathological
flow behavior and possible diagnostic markers. Prerequisite for the position is a degree in Computer Science or a related field.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
