<div><span style="font-size: 12pt;">We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Visual Data Science to work with us at giCentre at the Department of Computer Science at City, University of London. The successful candidate will be conducting research

 in developing the foundations of how analysts can use natural language elements within exploratory visual data analysis processes through novel techniques where natural language and visualisation based interactions operate in harmony. We are looking for enthusiastic

 researchers who are keen to ask fundamental questions on how visual exploratory analysis processes operate.</span><br>

<div>The post is within the “NlViS: Natural Language Interaction for Visual Data Analysis” project (<a href="https://www.gicentre.net/nlvis" class="OWAAutoLink" id="LPlnk838374" previewremoved="true">https://www.gicentre.net/nlvis</a>) funded by The Engineering

 and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and led by giCentre at City, together with the technology company Redsift Inc. <<a href="https://redsift.com/" class="OWAAutoLink" id="LPlnk720002" previewremoved="true">https://redsift.com/</a>> as an industrial

 project partner. The post is scheduled to start on **<b>September 2017**</b>, or as soon as possible thereafter, and is full-time for a period of

<b>12 months</b>. The starting salary is at the L6.34 salary scale -- Ł36,001 according to the City's current salary tables. </div>
