<p>The Visionarium Lab at Virginia Tech, an
international leader in immersive and web virtual reality visualization,
supports science, engineering and design activities across the
University – <a href="https://vis.arc.vt.edu/" target="_blank">https://<span class="">vis</span>.arc.vt.edu/</a>. As part of the Advanced Research
Computing (<span>ARC</span>) group – <a href="http://www.arc.vt.edu" target="_blank">http://www.arc.vt.edu</a>, in Information Technology, the position is focused on managing and extending <span>ARC</span>
systems in the Visionarium Lab and providing visualization
consultation, programming support, and facility tours. This position may
also work on other strategic systems and partnerships to advance
Virginia Tech’s mission.</p><br><h2>ICAT Immersive Environment Specialist</h2><a href="https://listings.jobs.vt.edu/postings/59841" target="_blank">https://listings.jobs.vt.edu/postings/59841</a><br><br>The <span>ICAT</span> Immersive Environment Specialist (<span>IES</span>)
works in a team setting with researchers from science, engineering,
education and the arts to produce content for use in a variety of
virtual and augmented reality applications. The primary role of the <span>IES</span> is to provide support to Virginia Tech researchers, programmers, producers and marketing staff using the <span>ICAT</span>
Cube facility, including creating virtual and augmented reality
environments making use of a variety of displays, including wearables.
The <span>IES</span> collaborates with the Cube systems
administrator, graduate researchers, and affiliated faculty to provide
an environment that enables research in immersive environments to the
