<td><p>The personnel in this position will
support faculty and students to effectively implement high-performance
visualization solutions such as cluster rendering, remote rendering and
distributed visual analytic tools in a many-core and multi-node
scientific computing environment. Provide technical consulting and user
support: debugging, supporting application parallelization, performance
tuning and innovation in the effective use of high-performance
visualization resources. Install, maintain, and support for commercial
and public domain software including workflow and data management tools
for analytics. Develop science and engineering educational program (such
as workshops and lecture series) for VT faculty and students. Pursue a
research agenda and collaborate with other VT science and engineering
faculty to create opportunities and projects for external grants.</p></td>

<th><br>Required Qualifications:</th>
<td><p>The position requires a Masters or equivalent experience in science or engineering discipline. Other requirements include:</p>
<p>-Ability to understand the computational requirements of scientists
and engineers in the use of high performance visualization technologies.</p>
<p>-Experience in the deployment and technical troubleshooting of large scale visualization resources.</p>
<p>-Experience in technical user support and parallel code development (for example, C++, Linux, OpenGL).</p>
<p>-Experiences in graphics application profiling & optimization for
large time series data sets using performance tools in High Performance
Computing contexts.</p>
<p>-Experience or familiarity with new technologies such as graphics accelerators and next-generation languages.</p>
<p>-Experience in developing and providing trainings and workshops to staff, students, and faculty in an academic setting.</p>
<p>-Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and leading
research projects in scientific visualization through collaboration with
external groups in some science and engineering domain.</p>
<p>-Excellent interpersonal skills, communications skills, and organizational skills.</p>
<p>-Self-motivated with proven capability to work effectively in team environment.</p></td>
