<b><br> Call for Workshops Proposals</b><br>
<br><b>SIBGRAPI</b> - Conference on Graphics, Patterns and Images (formerly<br>Brazilian Symposium on Computer Graphics and Image Processing) is<br>a traditional forum bringing together researchers, students and<br>professionals in Computer Graphics, Image Processing, Computer Vision,<br>
Visualization, Pattern Recognition and related areas. It is annually<br>promoted by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) through its<br>CEGRAPI committee.<br><br>The conference started in 1988 as a small symposium and has grown<br>
in importance along the years. Since 1996 the Proceedings are available<br>at IEEE Xplore, and each year special efforts have been made to publish<br>extended versions of the best papers in well-qualified journals<br>of related areas.<br>
<br>SIBGRAPI 2013 will be held on August 5-9, in the historical city of<br>Arequipa, Peru. For the first time outside Brazil! Arequipa is placed<br>in the Southern Coastal region of Peru just below the edge of the<br>Altiplano at 2,335 meters above sea level and surrounded by three<br>
impressive volcanoes. Arequipa is also known as The White City<br>(Ciudad Blanca) because of its many colonial-era Spanish buildings<br>built of "sillar", a pearly white volcanic rock. The city is about<br>an hour away by plane from Lima and 35 minutes away of Cuzco.<br>
<br><b>SIBGRAPI 2013 invites proposals for workshops</b>, to be held as special<br>sessions of the conference. The purpose of these workshops is to provide<br>participants with an informal setting for discussing innovative work<br>
on important new technical directions. Workshops should last 2 to 4 hours.<br>Although the format of the workshop is to be determined by<br>the organizers, substantial time is expected to be allotted for<br>discussion.<br>
<br>Workshop proposals should be submitted as a pdf file sent by<br>e-mail to <a href="mailto:nedel@inf.ufrgs.br" target="_blank">nedel@inf.ufrgs.br</a> and <a href="mailto:nina@ime.usp.br" target="_blank">nina@ime.usp.br</a> .<br>
Proposals should be at most 2-3 pages in length and should contain:<br><br>- a brief description of the specific technical issues that the<br> workshop will address;<br>- the reasons why the workshop is of interest at this time,<br>
- names and contact information of the organizers committee. This<br> committee should consist of at least three experts in the field,<br> not all from the same institution. One of the members should be<br> identified as the contact person;<br>
- estimated audience size and composition;<br>- format and agenda;<br>- procedures for selecting papers or other types of work;<br>- a list of audio-visual or technical requirements and any special<br> room requirements;<br>
- a list of workshops previously organized by any of the members<br> of the organizing committee (previous experience on organizing<br> workshops is not a requirement).<br><br><br><b>Important Dates </b>(for workshops proposals):<br>
<br> Submission deadline: March 29th<br> Notification of acceptance: April 08th<br><br>Early acceptance may be given to competitive proposals.<br><br><br><b>Evaluation Process:<br></b><br>The SIBGRAPI program chairs will review the proposals regarding:<br>
