In collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief of Computers & Graphics, we are pleased to announce a special section on topics related to Procedural Modeling.

Procedural modeling techniques and algorithms are widely used and explored. Procedural techniques can be found in many professional applications and new algorithms covering
areas such as vegetation modeling, urban modeling, furniture layout, and art design, are being published and developed to unprecedented new levels.

Despite the long history and wide acceptance of procedural modeling, many problems still prevail and should be addressed. Among them are the challenge of low-level control
of procedural models, the limitation of needing to explicitly provide the generative rules and their parameter values, the inability to easily express a desired 3D output object as a procedural model, and the requirement of in-depth understanding of the underlying
generative process in order to neatly alter the procedural rules and/or parameters.

We encourage the authors to send their new and unpublished work on the above-described topic to this special section of Computers & Graphics. The special issue is expected
to collect original contributions on topics related, but not limited, to
