** 2-Day Introductory Data Visualization Workshop/Course **
15-16 November 2023 in Middelfart, DK

The Danish Data Science Academy, the Danish Cardiovascular Academy, and the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy offer a joint 2-day Data Visualization Workshop for MSc and PhD students, as well as for interested PostDocs who want to learn some hands-on fundamentals about data visualization.

Contents:


  *   Foundations of Data Visualization (Presentation)
  *   Visualization Design Exercise (Group work using the 5-Design-Sheets Method)
  *   Introduction to Vega-Lite and first coding exercises
  *   Visualization Critique (Discussion)

In addition there will be plenty of opportunities for networking and in-depth discussions during breaks.

Registration Deadline: 17 September 2023

Cost: participation, room, and board are free, travel costs are not covered
Credits: 1.4 ECTS points for active participation in the workshop
Prerequisites: knowledge of a programming language - preferably Python, R, or JavaScript
Application Domain: the workshop will lean slightly towards the life sciences, but the discussions and exercises will be generic enough to benefit anyone regardless of their background
