2023 International Workshop on Visualization and Visual Computing (VCG'23)

After a hiatus in 2021 due to Corona, we again invite visualization and visual computing researchers across all career stages for a 3-day workshop to Aarhus, DK. On 09-12 May 2023, we will be meeting at Mols Laboratory<https://www.naturhistoriskmuseum.dk/mols-laboratory> to discuss current cross-cutting research themes in data visualization and visual computing. As usual, the workshop is meant as a ground to explore ideas outside of the box and to bring together the people who can make these ideas happen.

The program will include sessions on

  * new ideas for dealing with erroneous data and data quality issues in visualization and visual analytics,
  * new ways of making data science more user-driven through human-data interaction (HDI), and
  * new teaching approaches for visualization and visual computing, such as international co-teaching.

Furthermore, a visit to Moesgaard Museum<https://www.moesgaardmuseum.dk/en/> is planned, where we will get a behind-the-scenes tour showing us the computer graphics technology that goes into their exhibits.

A preliminary workshop program can be found here: Program 2023<https://vis-au.github.io/workshops/static/program2023.pdf>.
Impressions from the first VCG Workshop in 2019 are available here: Workshop Website<https://vis-au.github.io/workshops/>.

Workshop participation (including transport to Mols Laboratory, room and board) costs 5,600 DKK.
Registration for the workshop is possible through the registration page<https://events.au.dk/vcg23/signup>.

Interested students (MSc. and PhD students) can participate free of charge thanks to sponsorship by the Danish Data Science Academy<https://ddsa.dk/>. To receive the free registration link, please contact the workshop organizers at hjschulz at cs.au.dk<mailto:hjschulz at cs.au.dk>.
